Beliefs of Creationism
Is Creation a Salvational Issue The answer is basically 'no' because our salvation directly depends on accepting the Messiah as Savior and Redeemer. However, our understanding of the Messiah's role as Creator deepens our understanding of life and builds our relationship with Him. Therefore, the answer can become 'yes' because anything that makes us doubt Scripture or that destroys such understanding is yet another thing that threatens a person's accepting Messiah as Savior.
Scripture Scripture is the Almighty's recorded revelation to mankind. Scripture is without error regarding both the physical and the spiritual. The central theme of Scripture is the Almighty's relationship with mankind. Scripture guides us in truth, righteousness, and understanding of life.
The Creation The Almighty created the heavens and the earth. The act of creation was accomplished in a seven day period almost 6,000 years ago. This creation is currently under a curse due to mankind's disobedience and it will wear out and be destroyed. There will be a new heaven and a new earth.
Mankind Creation was made to be inhabited and the Earth was placed under the authority of mankind who is made in the image of the Almighty. The Almighty desires a special relationship with mankind and the desire of our life should be that close relationship.
The Effects of Disobedience and Sin Mankind has been given free will and is therefore able to choose to obey or disobey the Almighty. When Adam disobeyed and ate of the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil he, all his descendants, and the world fell under a curse and lost the close relationship that had existed with the Creator. Today we live in a world that shows the scars and effects of that curse. Our own lives also show the pains and effects of the curse as well. There has been one judgment by water which is evidenced by a worldwide flood and there will be another judgment done by fire.
The Worldwide Flood The pre-flood earth was very different than what we see today. The great mountains and canyons we are familiar with today likely developed very quickly during and after the destruction caused by the worldwide flood.
